          Booklet

I don't understand the animosity toward Mr. Maerz for questioning an extremely rare item by asking legitimate questions about it. If the attitude is simply "if you don't like it, don't buy it", then the main purpose of this forum, which is discussion, is circumvented. Is the item in question what it is purported to be? Are the THICK letters in his name merely the doodlings of a schoolboy, or a mistake by a forger who tried to cover a mistake by making the lines thicker? Why the apparent grade discrepancy? Why the change of writing styles? Why on earth does Thorsten even care if a particular item on a particular website is questioned, and why does he want the questioning ended. Questioning this item is NOT an indictment of the seller, as he is a militaria dealer, not a handwriting expert.

Unfortenately you must have missed my earlier postings within this very same thread.

And if you might think in the direction that I get paid by Craig for taking part in this thread you are - wroooooooooong.

Actually I have never bought from him or sold anything to him - I am just sick and tired of the fact that from time to time someone here feels like:

"Hey - I have nothing better to do, so let´s bash that Gottlieb once again, it´s fun and someone will surely join me and stick the boot in as well."

Fact is if you want to find something to pick up and start something - then you will find it, no matter who it is and which piece it is.

And fact is that this booklet is sitting on his website for at least 3 years, if not more - but all of a sudden someone comes along and picks it up...

Putting the focus on mistakes of other people is not an enjoyable hobby.

            Happy collecting.

I am sorry that this came to my attention only after three years. But as soon as it did I tried at least to find some answers - which i got. I wonder why you did not call this item "fishy" (to use your words) already three years ago ...????

I am not of the opinion that one can say that if an item "sits" somewhere for a long time it becomes genuine or not worthy to be questioned. There are new people in the hobby every day and would you have told them, if asked, that it is "fishy"?

Regarding to your reasoning we should close down this forum very fast since it is no good to "put the focus on other peoples mistakes." I wonder why you would say such a thing?

                    that is the question ?

Other vendors make much more mistakes and nobody cares - that´s the key.

And this vendor is - also due to threads like this one - better in making/gaining publicity than others.

You speak good about him? You speak bad about him?

Who cares as long as you speak about him, naming him is good for him.

Good for him and nobody else.
