After the para military Wehrverband of the German communists (the RFB) was forbidden in 1929, the KPD needed a new legal organization to fight against the fascists. That was the reason, that the "Kampfbund gegen den Faschismus"was founded on 28.09.1930 in Berlin (later transfered in the "Antifaschistische Aktion"). Members in 1931: 100000!

Here are some photos from an album I have. This is not my collecting area, so any information would be helpful.

They are photos of Freikorps training and events from 1924 - 1929. There are a number of Ludendorf photos in this album in addition to this large size photo of Ludendorf and several other high ranking guys including a PLM reciepient.

In the first page (17) you will see that the photo on the top right says they are dressed as bandits in civilian clothes "Rauberzivil" because of the "Polizei verbot".

Last photos

There are several photos of Major von Waldow in the album (second from the left). According to the newspaper clipings also in the album he was killed in a car crash in 1938 while serving with the SS. In the articles it says that he was with (or visited) A.H. in Landsberg.

Any information would be helpful.

Brad, thank you fo showing us these impressive photos! They show activities of different Wehrverbände of the Weimarer Republik (but no Freikorps). Freikorps activities were officially a long time ended in 1924-1929. A lot or Freikorps soldiers were in that time in the so called Wehrverbände (para military organizations, which had often political interests). You can read, that the officer was in the Freikorps Hindenburg, later Wehrverband Hindenburg. But there are other organizations in the photos! You can see events with members from other Wehrverbände like Stahlhelm, Wehrwolf, Tannenberg-Bund (Ludendorff was active in that organization).

Ludendorff had very good connections to the most of the Wehrverbände in the Weimarer Republik.
