    Wewelsburg, thanks for the mention of my site. I don't get on here very often, but I am always glad to be in contact with other NSFK collectors! I'm definitely not an expert on NSFK items, but have been collecting for a long time. Would enjoy hearing from any other NSFK collectors out there!

      unusual NSFK plaque

      I have recently acquired this plaque and thought you might like to see it. It is larger than the usual event plaques, having a diameter of 4 3/4 inches. It is made of aluminium with a gilt wash. It was awarded to a sturmfuhrer Gruda of Gruppe 8 for the longest glider flight at an event held at Dornberg on the 8/9th July, 1939. The flight lasted 17 hours 5 minutes 10 seconds. The engraving on the back is quite impressive. Ray p.s. i have tried to upload the photos 3 times, no luck. any advice would be welcome.

        Nice plaque.

        I cannot imagine seventeen hours in a sailplane. The pilot must have had "long range tanks"

                An NSFK Collector

                Absolutely terrific stuff! Thanks to everyone who shared photos of their items. As a long time NSFK collector, I am always interested to see the NSFK items in others collections.

                  One of my favorite items:

                  Shown is an item from my NSFK collection related to Korpsfuhrer Friedrich Christiansen. This set of stamps belonged to Herr Christiansen and sat on his desk during WWII, allowing him to stamp out-going letters and mail with his personal stamp.

                    I found this photo in the German magazine "Deutsche Luftwacht, Ausgabe Luftwelt" from September 1938.

                    It shows a French pilot, Guy de Chateaubrun, wearing one of the NSFK enamel badges.

                    He won the b flight in a Percival Vega Gull (British four-seater touring aircraft), at the first NSFK international air race in Frankfurt a/M. in 1938.

                      Henrik, that is a terrific photo. Hard to find photos of people wearing those badges, let alone a Frenchman. I don't think the Führer was happy about a Frenchman winning! Neat find, thanks for posting it!!!

                        There is photographs from the era showing various people wearing the NSFK enameled badges following an event or competition. Henrik just posted a photo of a Frenchman wearing one in another thread.
                        With that being said, I also think there are some being reproduced out there, but they are not very good and fairly easy to spot. There are several repro websites that have them, and the enamel work is not very good and the metal parts of them shine like chrome! I think the enamel work and the lettering around the front edges is key to its authenticity. I've noticed the repros don't have the crisp lettering of the originals. Anyway, just my thought on it.

                            As for teh small NSFK knives on teh action figures I made teh one on the tunic figure and a friend made the one on teh brownshirt figure.

                              HJ boy with NSFK enamel badge

                                That is a very cool picture, Henrik!

                                Here is the badge that corresponds with the type of model the young man is holding.

                                It is called a Saalflugmodell for flight indoors in a "hall".
