Another for a 1938 National Competition for Motor Flight Models.

You can clearly see the gas powered engine in the nose of the aircraft.

    (I need a new camera)

Here is another like the one Mike H. posted. All of these are very rare..

This is a participant's badge given out as souvenirs or keep sake.

The poster posted earlier in this thread corresponds with this badge..

This is for indoor, rubber powered model airplanes ..

Niblet, in answer to your question, there was in Germany in 1983, a similar Youth group, called the "Wiking Jugend", Beschaffungsstelle @ Kleeweg 27, Köln. They had both male & female sections, similar uniforms, wore nickle belt buckles w/a gold Odalrune, & yes they wore the HJ hiking knife the same as the knife of WW2 but the emblem in the grip was diamond shaped having the Odalrune on it (Odalruneneinlage). This Solingen-produced youth knife had an upper saw-edge on the blade (Doppelkreuzsäge). I still have their sales price-list for all their equipment dated summer of 1983.

I like the way the description starts:

"Nice example, right out of the woodwork from an old collection .."

Cloth items are so easy to fake, I stay away from them. This one looks nice and it probably is OK.. But you better do your homework before you lay your money down. Having guys look at pictures on the internet and offer their opinions isn't good enough ..

                      All the best ..

                      Mike W.

Did both organizations use that silver buckle design?
                            Scott,

I am not absolutely sure. I bought it from one of the bucklet specialists/moderators and that's what he told me. I think there may be some controversy. I also suspect it may have been used by more than one organization. I am delighted to have it, nonetheless.
