Thats true and ive read all the threds about all the bad s#*t hes done to people but he seems to know what hes talking about on these medals, im sure he likes to push the price up because he has a couple sets from what i gather.If he did do what has been stated Hes got a Karma bomb comeing soon, you cant get away with that kind of nonsense forever whitout paying a price.

Im Sure its a original cross but who knows maybe he can back up his info. This is why i didnt want to post it because theres is always one,LOL The medal speaks for itself and is match to all the known originals. Thanks for all the positive comments on the medal!

Thanks for the positive comments on the medal id like to come visit you in your exile in Germany but Liberia Is very nice this time of year as you know. Next week ill be off to Sierra Leone for a tiger hunt with our Friend Charles Taylor. Please back your opinion with some specific points backed up by pictures if at all possible.

German Order 101
Since you asked with respect in a proper manner, using the magic word, I feel you deserve an honest opinion.
1- It was stated by the owner that “most of the fire gilt finish are intact”.
- The German Order was never produced with that technic, ONLY GPBs were made that way. When a German Order was finish, the medal shines like a polished gold bar. All German Orders constructed with fire gilt as GPBs are FAKES.
2- As said to another member here, the original German Order was never constructed with striations around the center piece of the cross (wreath) wich was a smaller version for the GPB. Only real small GPB made by Joseph Fuess were made that way. Also, the center piece of the decoration in question, shows the inscription constructed in silver, when IN FACT, in the originals must be in gold, including the finnishing around the National Symbol, the Swastika Cross. So, ALL decorations with silver inscriptions are FAKES.
3- The cross, whatever class, was constructed ONLY in solid silver with a beautiful 24K gold wash. However, I have seen prototypes of the Special Class (Decoration with Sash and massive 8 pointed Star) made in solid gold, as said here by another member, and I do have pictures never seen before by anyone.
The cross belonging to Bolinger was definitely made in bronze as we can clearly see the green marks of oxidation. These markings can ONLY show in pieces made in bronze, that´s the way bronze oxidize. However, that tone of green (kind of emerald bright green) strongly suggests a mixture of acids for artificial aging, or patina. I cannot tell that for sure because it´s not clear by those pictures and I need to inspect that with my hands. Anyway, whatever that is, it can be exposed with chemical examination. Silver, as we all know, gets black color when aging but easy to remove even with a toothpaste. All decorations not constructed in silver (lower classes) are FAKES.
4- The poor quality of the enamel on that cross is much more that just a red flag! Not only quality, but the construction as well. Also, I don´t like the head of all eagles.
5- There are at least five more features, but I am not going to open the eyes of potential forger anywhere.
Finally my opinion that the decoration is a fake stands, now as a FACT! Furthermore, as beautiful as some think this is, the work on that cross was executed by a total amateur. Anyway, I had a lot of fun, reading all those positive comments from all those “true experts” on this forum.
P.S. : Mr. Bolinger, if you were so sure about your cross, why bother?

Chris i thank you for your comments and you may well be right. Im not a expert on these medals and its very possible i made a mistake, its happened many times before. I think the quality of the medal is very nice and matches exactly to known originals, party pin enamel everything. From what i read the partypin is a exact match to the small fuess party pins and they are supposed to have the lines under he leaves. i can guarantee its been in a trailer park for at least 35 years so its not something new. The medal looks much better in hand the detail of the heads is very nice and sharp but didnt come out to well in the pictures. Thanks for the detailed response and maybe we can all learn something today.
