Just a little history for you all concerning this medal. About 30 yeras ago a physician in FL who collected daggers was corresponding with me mentioned that he had placed a sign in his office requesting souviners from the war. A European theater veteran said he had some items at home he had brought back and he brought them in an sold them to the doctor.
The doctor sent me poor photos of the items: you know the usual SA Dagger, Army Dagger and some armbands. Then, in one of the photos were two Deumer grey boards with medals on them. I couldn't tell much, but thought they had a couple of WWI Breast Pin Back Medals, so I asked him to sent me photos of just the boards.
A week later, in came the photos of the Deumer boards and ON EACH BOARD was the 3rd Class German Order pin back. I was amazed. I begged for one or both, but the doctor would not sell. So here was the proof that Deumer made this cross. It was tied to the grey cardboard board with the usual thread and had a number by it with the ID sheet on the back of the board stating the German Order in Deutsch.
I tried to keep in contact with the physician, but lost him in moves.

hi,
Seen in the light of other discussions and persons involved that occured since this topic was started, i have been doubting for a week now to reply in this topic or not. Please don't shoot the messenger (me) but judge the content
A few weeks ago Warlords new book has been published: German Nazi Party Awards, and this contains very interesting new info and items.
As mentioned a few times in this very same topic there would be an article about the German Order in it, this turns out to be ten pages long. I thought it would be of interest to mention this new book here? (And yes i've read the things posted elsewhere on the forum, thats why im not sure if i should post this or not, but since not too much is written about the Order...?).
best regards,
Gaston

I wonder what those cases look like...
Also what grades are supposed to be in there? With Oakleafs, Swords, or the cross with pin?
With only a handfull known originals and also the names of those recipients pretty much known, i can't believe many more were made or will now suddenly surface.
If someone slowly would "let loose" some on the market we would also likely have known. Also new ones popping up in the future is most unlikely, the ones that are known are in pretty famous collections and any future sales will have to have some related background.
This doesn't all sound too plausible?
regards,
Gaston
edit: after re-reading the previous reply: "cases" can perhaps also mean the "case" like in the Wolfe=Hardin collection with all grades and the special badges?

I am familiar with the German Order from a Deumer board. It does not have the small striations in the wreath of the gold party badge, like seen on the Fuess badges and seen in several reference books showing the German Order. I never knew what to think of thise, but suppose they are original or display pieces.
Does anyone know of this variation?

2nd Class Deutscher Orden Out of Florida
I baught this a couple days ago, was in a jewelry box for 35 years and before that was owned by a Hells Angel Biker story is he gave it to his girlfriend the woman the medal came from. This example has more of the fire gilt finish than the few real ones ive seen on the net.I believe this to be a textbook original, to bad the nesk suspension is gone but i believe the medal speeks for itself. I read that only 12 of each class were made?

Thanks
Thanks for all the positive comments on the medal. I read a 3rd class of the badge brought 67000 euro a year or two ago. From what ive read the 3rd class was never awarded? I would think a complete 1st or 2nd class should be worth more then a 3rd which was never awarded and more of them have tunred up over the years. I know finding a original neck suspension is next to impossiable but stranger things have happened. The one pictured in Detlievs book states the neck suspension is a replacement on the 2nd class? I wounder what happened to them? I was thinking in the 15000 to 20000 usd range, but really who knows? From what WARLORD has said on another forum that he thinks a real one should bring over 100,000 because of how rare they are. I dont know but ill be happy to own it for a while.
Look how much a nice knights cross goes for 10,000 + and how many thousands were made and awarded even with oaks and swords if there was only 12 or even 20 of each type of this medal made and 10 or 11 issued and only a handfull to be in private hands less then 10 i think? The rest are in Museum in germany. They have to be worth more than a knights corss with oaks and swords.Last edited by NBolinger; 10-03-2011, 04:21 PM.
