I have never seen such a set before but that doesn't mean anything at all. I have never even begun to study the political orders and would not know anything about them.
I was also not aware of the oaks to the RK of the KVK until I saw them and the paperwork that came with it. And that was impeccable.
I would think that Helmut Weitze knows what he is offering.

I have been studying this award for almost 30 years now. The Knights Cross style oakleaves and swords was indeed a prototype style first presented to Hitler back in early 1942 or late 1941. That design was rejected by Hitler. RAD Chief Hierl was NOT presented with this type of award as stated above. His award presented in February 1945, would have looked like the standard First Class as presented to Todt and Heydrich, both of which photos appeared at the time in period newspapers and magazines. There are, in fact, several other "prototype" styles in existance that were also rejected. One has the swords passing through the arms of the cross, another is completely different as the cross arms are RED in color instead of Black. And yet another style seems to have been a Grand Cross breast star which has never been verified as a period piece.
