it would be interesting to know how many attributed coburg awards are surviving ?

Yes, it would be interesting to know how many attributed Coburg Badges survive today, but unlike the BO or the GPB, Coburg Badges were not numbered, so the only attribution that could be secured would be an attestation or 'word of mouth,' and in the end, that's at best just hearsay.

I've long wondered why the Coburg Badge wasn't numbered and an awards list maintained by the NSDAP? Perhaps it was assumed from the award's inception that there would only be a few hundred badges presented, and that would mean permanently keeping track of about 450 names and numbers for an award that was never intended to be wider in scope -- unlike the 2nd Issue BO or the AH Honorary GPB awards.

I've been searching through numerous pages of this thread and was wanting opinions on this badge. I believe 2nd pattern/type, looks similar to the one in post #1951
                Thanks

                        Hello guys
Was wondering if the Coburg I posted in the post above is a good one? Or should I start another thread/topic on it?
                        Thank you

                        Mike

                                Updated list:

ErichS owned one which has since been sold (1)

Jon Fish found, and I believe sold, one (1 or 2)
(not sure if they are 2 different plates)

                                Winkler had a broken/repaired one (1)

                                One sold in auction (1)

                                M. Zimmer owns 2 (one boxed) (2)

                                A friend owns one (1)

                                I own one (1)

                                Ratisbon's just auctioned one (1)

                                Griffin Militaria (1)

                                Coburg Stadtarchiv (1)

                                M. Zimmer's friends (2)

                                Military (1)

                                Master Bo (2)

So that is a maximum of 17 plates. This does not take into account/consideration that some of those listed above might be double counted (i.e. sold by one member and purchased later by someone else and listed again)
