It is absolutely crazy how the prices for Coburg related items are growing on. If this trend keeps on I will trade one of my plates for a Knightscross

      Hi,

maybe because only real rarities will keep their value in the next 20 years.

.....or maybe it's supply and demand and the dealers know that someone will bite on their ridiculous over inflated prices.

I wonder how much a coburg badge is worth today?

The last CB was sold at Thies Auktion for € 6,900 +fees, so for all € 8,500

That’s about US$9830! Was that a first or second pattern piece at Thies?

Wow, amazing how the Coburg badge is accelerating in value. From the post that discussed numbers of 1st & 2nd type in a previous post, are we to surmise the 2nd issue to be rarer than the 1st issue?

                    Hi,

guys, Thies Auktionen are well known to have ridiculously high hammer prices...

Remember the lot of 7 ultra common SS-Leithefte that sold for near 3000 euros, fees included ? More than 400 euros each issue ! Stupidity at his best.

Or the two Germanische Leistungsrunen that sold on Thies 62 (Summer 2017) for 9000 euros (fees included) each, which is like 66% over the collector to collector selling price...

Do not conclude that prices are rising due to Thies results...

                    See You

2500 is still a lot of money, but enjoy it!

That’s seldom to see for political awards. I have 2 such entries in WP in my collection for the blood order plus know of another 2, but never seen before for the Coburg award.

Here is a pic of him and his awards
The Wehrpass is still with his daughter, I met her yesterday and she allowed to take photos, but not to make the Name public
He was born in 1890, Leutnant in the WW I, and 1940 called to the Wehrmacht as Oberleutnant der Reserve
Next week I will have the next meeting with her and she wants to show me more Photographs
