        ribbon

Further shot of the medal with the full ribbon, there is a long piece of material sewn to the ribbon to keep it inside the tunic pocket.

Both are very interesting orders Brian and the ribbon attachment on your 1st pattern is most interesting and funtional!

My 1st patterm BO has the standard button hole wearing ribbon. After seeing Brian's interesting custom ribbon attachment on his 1st pattern, does anyone else have any interesting wearing ribbon configurations that they would like to share? It seems as though,at times the recipient would put his personal touch on wearing his medal not always per regulation.

                  Beer Hall Putsch Officer Wehrpass

Hello. A very interesting thread, peppered with rare and interesting items.

Perhaps the Wehrpass shown here might be of interest to the blood order collectors:

Hello. I've decided to show this Wehrpass here at this thread as it is very close connected to the incidents on 8. / 9. November 1923 in Munich.

Max Schuster, born in 1890, joined the Reichswehr in 1912. First promotion in 1913 to Unteroffizier, in 1916 to Vizefeldwebel.
He fought with I.R.1 in WWI, got wounded twice and ended up in French captivity until 1920.
He was awarded with EKII, MVK III Kl. with Crown and Swords and EKI.

After beeing released from the French captivity he served with various Infantry Regiments. In 1925 he was promoted to Leutnant.

Reactivated in WWII he served with Verwaltungs Trupp Ersatz Abteilung München and later with various Kraftfahr units. He was promoted Oberleutnant in 1941and finally released from service in 1942.

                    So far so good.

If there wasn't a short entry on page 32 ...

                    It reads:

"8.11. / 9.11.23 Teilnahme an der Unterdrückung innerer Unruhen in München."

In other words: He was involved with I.R. 19 in the divestiture of the Beer Hall Putsch.

The entry below the I.R. 19 entry on page 12 reads: "Kommandatur München".

The entry on page 13 to which the arrow points reads: "zum 23. Nov. 1924 nach Ablauf der 12 jähr. Dienstzeit entlassen".

IMO this WP is a very interesting and unique piece of history. I guess there weren't many troops involved in the incident. And just a few - if at all - who later had a WWII Wehrpass with the corresponding entry.

This Wehrpass would make a nice addition to any Blood Order collection as it is of a member of the counterpart of the Beer Hall Putsch.

                    Hope you like it.

                    Regards
