Br. it seems that the BOs were numbered in batches and not always by the importance of the recipient with a few exceptions. When an order from say a certain Company in the SA Munich, you'll notice on the list that the numbers run in a group. The BO was handled by the "Office of the 9th of Nov" which over saw the awarding of the BO and Putsch anniversary events.

I have Blutorden # 251 and the small red oil cloth document to go with it. Its to 'Reiber'. As its a first pattern medal with a second pattern document this would maybe point to the fact number 251 was re issued to Reiber. On the document above posted it shows a name crossed out and Reiber written alongside.Importantly then I think we can safely confirm with this medal and document that Blutorden had to be returned and re-issued in such cases. In this case Reiber must have been due a first pattern award and duly recieved it,with a second pattern holders document.
Then again the document says second issue on the top so could have been a later replacement for the brown version associated with the 1st pattern medal.

Any research on Reiber members could add would be gratefully recieved.

Unless a mistake was made entering his name on the document below, simply crossed out and written in.This would mean his medal was not collected in following whatever led to him having it revoked.Interesting stuff.
I really ought to get him professionally researched its on my 'to do' list !

Thanks for posting your BO and documentation Jon. It also looks to me that it was a reissue.

          Remember 8/9 November
          1923

Here is a very special family, father and 2 sons ALL 3 taking part and awarded the Blutorden.
I own one of the son's medals and some super photographs, this being the nicest of the 3 of them .The other medals are most probably lost to time.
Enjoy the image fellow political collectors.
          Prost !

p.s sorry for the writting on the image but i'm not so happy finding it all over the Internet !

What an awesome picture and piece of history!!!

You really need to write a book on that subject, hope that´s a priority on your to-do list.

Jon, from the look of the ribbon configuration on your BO, my bet is that your medal belonged to the guy on the right, # 3.

Here's a little Munich themed display that I put together. The period Burgerbraukeller stein was an early Christmas gift to myself.
