Bob, I can't thank you enough - for sharing with us something so Rare & so Unique, that few even knew it might even 'possibly' exist!

You have so very graciously Shared the 'Creme de la Creme' in this one-of-a-kind Grouping! WOW...... It doesn't get any better, or any more Historically significant.

The Jewish aspect is quite a Shock.... at this level regarding Hitler! AMAZING.

I've often wondered how the WW1 Comrades (as many Jewish Germans fought in WW1 & were awarded high Decorations) - 'felt' in the 30's as 'JEWS' were progressively excluded from Citizenship, Rights, etc.?

It must have been a quandary for the WW1 guys (German Non-Jews & German Jews) who slugged it out together in the trenches at Verdun and elsewhere? (As soldiers everywhere - they laid their lives on the line .....for their Comrades, Jew or Non-Jew).

Just as Hitler showed LOYALITY to a devoted friend - I would wager that there are many yet untold stories, where the 'Old Comrades' aided one another as the NS regime progressively ascended to power. It is a very POWERFUL and Epic story of LOYALTY & FRIENDSHIP. It is Just Amazing.

This Grouping / Exhibit should be the Topic of a History Channel Segment - and would be Supremely educational to ALL.

Ya I find it very interesting to about the Jewish Friendship, it really goes to show you that Hitler himself was not the main pusher of the Anti-Jew mentality in the German Government. For Hitler himself to protect his friend and even have his personal photo on his dresser must have pissed off Himmler and others who gained power due to the horrific mind set. Once Hitler came to highest power position he had few REAL friends, and for him to respect this man this much he really showed another side to himself, and for Bob or anyone to own this collection, I would think it would make you very proud to have it at this time!

Have you read "I will bear Witness?", I think by Klemperer? 2 volume set, of just that, a German Jew who served honorably in WW1, but was slowly and surely persecuted as the war went on. His only saving grace was he married a fully "aryan" German woman. Great reading, guaranteed.

I HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF EITHER ITEM. POSSIBLY, THE FAMILY HAS RETAINED SOME ITEMS. THERE WAS A LONG BATTLE BETWEEN THE SONS OVER SELLING THESE ITEMS. THE SURFACE OF THESE ITEMS ALONG WITH BOB HRITZ'S GROUPING TELL A TALE THAT THERE WAS NO SHAME ATTACHED TO THE 3RD REICH ERA WHEN IT CAME TO THE EARLY SUPPORTERS. ITEMS OF HONOR WERE SIMPLY STASHED AWAY WHERE THE ALLIED FORCES COULD NOT GET THEIR HANDS ON THEM. IT IS LIKELY THAT OTHER EXAMPLES OF THE STOSSTRUPPE BLOOD ORDER ARE SAFETLY TUCKED AWAY WITH THE DESCENDENTS OF THE RECIPIENT.
ANOTHER SUCH EXAMPLE WAS THE LARGE GROUPING OF MATERIAL THAT CAME FROM THE ARNOLD FAMILY. THE FATHER WAS A S S BRIGADEFUHRER, GAU LEVEL POLITICAL LEADER AND LOCAL LEADER OF THE REICHSNAHRSTADT. Absolutely stunning group. I don't think that the Stosstruppe BO badge is shown in any of the reference books.

I noticed that too a couple of days ago. Himmler's Stosstruppe badge is also featured in the supplementary Volume to Nimmergut's 5 Volume work "Deutscher Orden und Ehrenzeichen bis 1945".

The reverse of the badge shows "PG H. HIMMLER" and is exactly as it should be, therefore definately not a fake.

I'm not suggesting it's a fake, however one thing is certain: Himmler was in no way affiliated with the Stosstrupp Adolf Hitler. One can only speculate, but if he did in fact receive an award intended for Stosstrupp veterans, maybe it was an honorary thing given to him as the man who, in 1929, assumed control of the organization that was born out of the Stosstrupp (that is, the Schutzstaffel).

Here's what I have on Heinrich's Putsch participation (for which he received Blutorden Nr. 3 on 11. June 1934).

08.11.1923 - 09.11.1923 -- Participated in the München Putsch as Fahnenträger (standard
bearer, carrying the "kaiserliche Reichskriegsflagge" [Imperial Reich War Flag]) of
the Infanterie-Zug / I.Bataillon / “Reichskriegsflagge”. Led by Ernst Röhm and together with
some 400 other men (including his older brother, Gebhard), he took part in the occupation of
the Bavarian Kriegsministerium (War Ministry) in the Schönfeldstrasse. With the failure of
the Putsch, they were soon disarmed by soldiers of the Reichswehr. Although evading
arrest, Himmler was left without employment. He occupied himself by spending two hours a
week studying French at a Berlitz school.

Maybe I Can Clear Up The Issue With Regards To Himmler. Maurice Stated In His Letter Regarding This Badge That It Was Also Given To Selected Party Members Who Were Prosecuted Following The Failed Putsch. This Would Explain Himmler Receiving A Badge.

If Himmler got it, I reckon it was on the basis of his being Himmler. He suffered no prosecution of any kind for his participation in the Putsch, nor was he ever prosecuted in the Weimar years for any other reason.
