It may be a soup bowl, but unfortunately, it's not one of Hitler's. It's my opinion, this is a fantasy piece. The party eagle stamp was not properly executed and it's a bit sloppy in the details. Here are some pictures of proper Wellner markings.
With all due respect, it is not fine. It's not even close. I'm sorry you can't see this. In the world of ever increasing fakes, micro details matter. They separate the fakes vs the real deal. I'll try to illustrate my point in the below pictures...focus on the details in the circled areas.
The eagle matches others on a well respected dealers site
There appears to be a few different variations of this eagle
Its fine....if they were reproducing many more would be found...plain period High quality alpaca is not easy to come by.
And if copied only a die stamp would be made....you could never justify a roller
Any piece produced by Wellner was made of silver.
there should be a round circle underneath the monogram with the silver content.
The silver content was represented with a number
your piece lacks both.
Most pieces also had a rolled edge
this one lacks it also.
and lastly, I knew it wasn’t period just by looking at the head of the eagle.
look at the eye/mouth on your example, and the same place on known originals.
you’ll see the difference.
I could go on, but we’ll let it go at that.
Cool man cave piece, but not an original piece ever produced by Wellner
