Richard, that stamp looks as good as identical to mine! If not the E. Reitz company, where was the Reitz you refer to located? Was that a German firm?

Ignatius thanks for your kind suggestion. I will send you an email. Thanks!

    Regards,

    Erik

      Erik,

I do not know where the Reitz company was in Germany. The stamp is in a Police panzer wrap which means no point in showing it on this forum.

          Erik,

Here is another Po1944 stamp which also appears identical. I am waiting for the item to arrive.

Richard that stamp is really identical to mine. Interesting that it is produced in Vienna. I have a copy of Militaria Magazine (feb 1994) with a topic on Police uniforms. They don't show stamps but report that one of the M44 police tunics shown in the article was made in Vienna in 1945. I know of one other M44 police also coming from Vienna.

            Regards,

            Erik

Wait until you see what post #34 is on, although I don't get much response on the Police Forum when posting panzer Police items.

Here is my problem with uniform markings. They are only one indication of the originality of a uniform and if they are wrong they can indicate the uniform is also wrong. If they are correct in style, they are again only one indication that the uniform is also correct. Anybody with $10 can get a rubber stamp made so stamped uniform markings are very easy to fake. I just hate to give fakers too much information. As we have seen, they watch these forums and change what they are doing when it is pointed out that something is wrong with the particular fake they are then making. Just look at embroidered police sleeve eagles. That is why I personally don't show uniform markings on internet forums.

Having said that, the "Wien-Lago" markings always make the hair on the back of my neck stand up when I see them in police uniforms. I have seen quite a few fakes with this particular rubber stamp marking. I know that some years ago a French Dealer, who specializes in high end fakes, brought some of these uniforms with this same marking into the US at a couple of shows. A French collector magazine tried to legitimize these uniforms some years ago but they are fakes none the less. So, one should always be careful about accepting the legitimacy of markings to prove that the uniforms they are on are original wartime production, IMHO.

Well I can assure you Richard; I would embrace any opportunity to see images of original Panzer Polizei uniforms...let alone own one

Actually...this is the first "Wein-Lago" marking I have ever seen

I have seen quite a dew "Lago-Wein" and I would love to see any photos of the fakes anyone might have to share, especially an "Wein -Lago" types.

While surfing around the other day, I stumbled across this somewhat recent offering of a mottled M44 (or an modified tunic?) from a random dealer site that appears to have been sold. Anyone here have it? Comments on being constructed from mottled material? Only the one picture, unfortunately.

Interesting tunic Dave! Indeed it isn't a standard issue M44 tunic but a modified summer tunic in M44 style.
Would love to see the details on this one.

                              Hello guys,
My question could be slightly offtopic but I would like to ask you if you have seen police tunic(not only Feldbluse 44) manufactured from italien cloth?
