    Police M44

    Hi guys,

Just want to show you my M44 police. I have it for some years now and want to complete a mannequin. Can't wait to finnish it!
    I really love this tunic!

It is stamped: Po 1944 and RBNr. 0/0729/5156

A very nice specimen! Does it have the belt suspension set up and the collar closure tab and button? Some do and some (for some odd reason) do not. This is a neat example, with sew-in boards instead of the slip on. Can you tell if they are original to the tunic?

Thanks! It's a great tunic coming from an old german collection that was split up few years back. I bought it at a very reasonable price and was surprised that quite a few collectors didn't find it interesting at the time and left it hanging.

The tunic has both the collar closure tab and the belt set up. And as far as I can see there is no evidence at all of having had any loops for slip on straps. The boards being nicely sewn in.

Until now I have not seen any period photo's of the police M44 in use. Are there any know pictures?

                Regards, Erik

Erik that is one fine tunic. I haven't seen any clear photos of this tunic type in wear in period photos, but perhaps others can help out.

Looks like a classic original! I like the sew-in board feature myself, and given that he'd have two promotions before he'd have to switch out the boards, it makes sense for this rank jacket.

Thanks again for the compliments guys!
No, unfortunately I don't have the M44 pants. Never seen a pair! I think I will have to set it up with M43 pants for now. Have to get a pair of those first but they come by now and then!

                        Regards, Erik

Erik, as you know looking is half the fun. I think a M43 trouser and cap set up is perfect for these jackets. Good luck! regards, Robert

Great Tunic. Erik I think you and I have the direct opposite Problems. I have been looking for the police m44 for a while, and have gotten the m43 cap and Pants and shirt But no m44 tunic. We should split the set up 6 months at each others house

                            Great tunic, thanks for showing.

Here is a link to discussion of a couple earlier this summer.

Dave, I guess I hadn't noticed much, but the threads are only carried for two pages and then you have to try and find them with search? Has it become a storage problem on this site?
