Although surviving examples as well as documentation for this model is practically non existent, it appears that there were 2 versions of this type.

One version had the leather strap attached to a ring at the base of the grip as below, whilst the other example like mine above, had the strap fixed around the grip. The example minus the strap ring attachment may have been an improved model.

The wrist breaker with chain and fits inside its own handle in frame 5 usually have German markings on both sides that match, although these type were used by law enforcement across the world for a time before they were outlawed in many countries and they went to handcuffs.

Quite the opposite actually. The vast majority do not have any markings at all. Occasionally, August Schwarz marked examples can be found but these are very, very scarce indeed. Be very wary of any marked SA/SS/RZM.

A very nice example of the "gummi" schlagwaffe has surfaced on a UK dealers website.

It is the modified version without the additional strap attachment ring.

                    SIPO Weapon Question

Was just sorting through some stuff and came across this one. Will be moving it to the stand miscellaneous section. Maker marked ML and DRGM and DRP.

                    Best regards,
                    Bill

I have seen a "karillo"? Marked leather coveret batong almost like those Sipo marked ones. It has a leather clothed tipp and a spring who goes into the grip who is leather coveret. Do this "ring" any Bells? I am sorry but i cant post pictures now.
                        Regards

I just purchased a D.R.P.a. marked sipo baton. This is the 2nd I've owned but the first I have ever seen with the patent pending marking. Any idea on when it would have been made? Early 30's
