EARLY TENO ARMBAND – shown in Dobrich Post Card
EARLY TENO ARMBAND – shown in Dobrich Post Card
This Post Card by the noted artist, Dobrich Steglitz, shows the Pre-1933 TeNo Volunteers at work keeping the Eisenbahn / Railroad running.
The Soldier’s Uniform, Stalheim, long GEW Mauser, as well as the Pre-1933 Caps on the TN Mann kneeling & the TN Mann on top of the Locomotive ‘cow catcher’ – also date this Post Card to the Pre-1933 era, IMO. (Also the Image on the Card goes from ‘edge to edge’ – which is the style used by Dobrich in printing his ‘earlier’ Cards. Later Cards had a ‘white’ border.)
The caption: "Technischer Dienst beim Eisenbahn – Einsatz" – is a precursor to the TeNo Branch Distinction of the TD Arm Raute ‘Circle’ which the TeNo will later adopt.
Of Special Interest to TeNo Collectors is the unusual Early TeNo Armband which is shown on their Left Sleeve. It is a simple "TN" surrounded by 16 Cogs, in a symmetrical manner. (This is very similar to the TeNo Emblem which will be used by the TR Dutch TeNo, the Technische Noodhulp – page 513, Littlejohn’s "Defending the Reich.")
There are probably Photos of this TeNo Armband in use as well, which have not yet been found to be Posted …..Txs, Dave/dblmedAttached Files

EARLY TENO ARMBAND – Pre 1933
EARLY TENO ARMBAND – Pre 1933
I acquired this Early TeNo Armband in Germany, and it matches up with the above Dobrich Steglitz illustrated one.
It is of white Cotton and measures 5" by 8" & is sewn shut on the Reverse Side. No maker’s markings, only an ‘Early’ snap pin attached! …..Txs, Dave/dblmedAttached Files

TeNo Rank Chart: 1940-1943
I located this nice TR Period MERKBUCH fur NOTHELFER, which is a 32 page small ‘Pocket’ booklet (4" X 5 3/4" size) and seems to be much like the "Soldier’s Friend" booklets of the HEER and LUFT.
There are sections on the history of the Technische Nothilfe; what is expected of a TN-Mann, etc.; Tables of Units of Weight & Measurements… and a TN Rank Chart, which is most interesting.
The Date of Publication is not shown, but there is a reference to 10.11.1940, so we know the approximate dating. The Publisher is Verlag: Fritz Otto Kohler, Berlin. Druck: Ernst Segnitz, Berlin.
Shown as Folded Open – Front & Rear Covers ….Txs, Dave / dblmedAttached Files

TeNo Mann in France - 1940
TeNo Photos, in wear, are very, very scarce ....
Here's a Postcard I have of a TeNo Mann, stationed in France, to be sent back home to friends. Note the added 'Horseshoe' by the French Photo Studio.
Check out the:
a. Collar Tabs
b. Shoulder Boards
c. Cap TeNo Eagle
d. TeNo Buttons
e. Belt Buckle
I bought this Photocard 'hoping against hope' to find Proof of the 'in use' wear of the RARE Solid EM TeNo buckle!!! (But, under magnification - it turns out to be an Army "Gott Mit Uns" variety....(Further study and "Defending the Reich" notes that the TeNo solid EM Buckles appear to have only been worn in 1933-34. So, perhaps that is why they are seldom seen!)
Enjoy & Share more TeNo Items..... Txs, Dave/dblmedAttached Files

Green TeNo Armband - Front
The White TeNo Armband is quite impressive, but I find that the Green Armband has more of a 'Color Punch' to it. I am informed that this style TeNo Armband is of later war TeNo usage. (The white one w TeNo Logo came first.)
This Green Armband can be found with, or without, the small TeNo 'Cap' Eagle Triangle patch sewn on it. ...........Txs, Dave/dblmedAttached Files

TeNo Blue Working Uniform .......
I got very lucky and recently acquired just a BLUE TeNo Working Uniform, which is shown in many TeNo TR Period Photos. (There was also a more common White TeNo Working Uniform; and a Rarer Light Green TeNo Working Uniform)
The Dealer's description of the BLUE TeNo Working Uniform is as follows.
"...German WWII TeNo (Technische Nothilfe) HBT (herring bone twill) unissued work uniform. Consists of jacket and pants. HBT material is a dark blue color, buttons are pressed paper. Inside size and manufacturer tags and also paper manufacturer tags all present on both pieces. Jacket has 2 breast pockets and pants have hip pockets and right thigh utility pocket. Gorgeous textbook "Technische Nothilfe" cufftitle in light gray on black, factory applied to left sleeve. Size is large, German 52, about a 42 US. Pants are size 36" waist (adjustable) and 29" length from crotch to bottom hem. They have a belt with roller buckle adjuster in them for a better fit. Both pieces are flawless and mint. Textbook Teno Blue work uniform." ................Txs, Dave/dblmedAttached Files
