I collect the philatelic aspects of the '36 games. The stamps, covers, and postcards.

Here are two of my covers with the cachet of the Hindenburg Zeppelin commemoratiing the flight that overflew the Olympic Stadium on the Opening Day of the Games on 1 August. Each of these covers bears a souvenir sheetlet of the Olympic stamp issue. The Hindenburg perished in spectacular fashion a few months later at Lakehurst, New Jersey.

If there is any interest, I'll be pleased to show you more very nice material.

    Cheers,

    Ramon

While I'm at it, I thought I'd post the 10 postcard set of Olympic scenes that was issued by the German Olympic Committee.

This card shows the 3000 Km run bringing the Olympic flame from Greece to Berlin. This is the first time the Olympic torch run was done. This was suggested by an idea from Dr. Carl Diem.

I also collect the Raumbildalben. These are stereographic pictures that appear as 3D images when viewed with the proper viewing Brill.

If there's interest, I'll be pleased to show some items from the Heinrich Hoffman published Olympic Game Raumbildalben in my collection.

Don't have much, only a few Danish participant's items from the 1936 Olympics. The biggest lapel pin is marked "Heimbürger" i.e. the same Danish jeweller who made several of the Danish nazi party badges during the war.
