Post your exciting SFL tank pic

    Hello,

i´m a collector of photos showing self propelled anti tank gun´s and i would love to see your photos.

    I want to start with a photo showing a MARDER 7,62cm Sd.Kfz. 139 in Kreuzwald 05.09.1944.

Now we have 4 hours to go for 2004 in Japan...

So that Christian feel better now, here is a Panzarjäger I from Panzerjäger-Abteilung 643 (later incorporated into G.D.) - Pz.Jg.I from this Abteilung can easily be identified from large "turret" number.

It just occurred to me that the word SFL may be clueless to some members... It is the abbreviation for Selbstfahrlafette, self-propelled gun (SPG) in English.

While the standard Panzerjäger I had a Czech 4,7cm Pak (practically the only effective anti-tank gun against heavily armored french tanks), this experimental implementation used a german 3,7cm Pak on an older Ausf. A chassis.

Now it has been one hour into 2005... I'm pretty much drunk and sleepy but I have to say "A happy new year!"

Here is a Marder II D that was used for training in Panzerjäger-Ersatz und Ausbildung-Abteilung 10 in October 1943:
