      Freidrich und Heinz

Here are the graves of two who fell in Belgium. I can't make out their last names, however there is writing on the reverse. So, I'll post both sides in the hope that someone can make out their last names.

          Ltn. Wilhelm Muhllinghaus

Here's the grave of Leutnant Wilhelm Muhlinghaus in Belgium. Can someone look him up on the Volksbund list? According to the reverse of the image, he fell at or near the Lys Canal.

            possible Panzerjager grave

Here is what I believe to be the mass grave of a panzerjager crew. Ifeel this way due to the number of names on the memorial, six as well as the shells laying about the grave.

Hi Gerdan, could you translate the reverse of Heinz Ivangs photo? That's an unusual last name, I've never seen it before. Why do you say he's MIA? Who is Heinz Prinz?

Here the text from the back. It is a home made poem to honour the soldier:

                          "In Neujahrsnacht zur Jahereswende
                          da war's auch
                          Deines jungen Lebens Ende.
Nun ruhst Du in Rußlands Hand
                          gebettet in Liebe und Trauer(?)
                          durch des Feindes Hand.
Der tiefe Schnee ist Deine Decke,
                          das feuchte Grab die Ruhestätte
                          das schlichte Kreuz, das Glaubenstor
                          Ragt zum Himmel hoch empor.
                          Und auf des Kreuzes Rand
                          Dein Name stand,
daß Du den Heldentod hier fandest,
                          daß Du hier ruhst
                          In Gott und Frieden"

When I have time enough I will try a translation.

The left one I tried to read: "Albert Gerstemeyer" - but I could not find him on the Volksbund list.

The right one's first name is "Albert..."

Hi Gerdan, thanks for your help. Like I said, you're the best. I look forward to reading the poem when you get the chance to translate it. It was very thoughtful of whoever wrote it, Heinz must've meant a lot to the writer. Where in Russia was he killed, was it near Leningrad? Like I said Ivangs is an unusual name, have you ever heard of it before?
