An SS Panzermann from SS-Pz Regt 1 wearing a regular PAB and PAB mit Einsatzzahl for 25 or 50 engagements at the same time. Which you weren't supposed to do ... (not my photo; from Patrick Agte's book on Jochen Peiper).

Former sailors who became infantryman at the end of the war.
The right sailor has strange award combinations on tunics and SS buckle.

That's the longest EK II ribbon I have ever seen.

These are KM personnel (in feldgrau KM uniforms) but neat photos anyway.

Very interesting thread, keep 'em coming. Wonderful to see these oddities.

A quick comment to the last photo with the KM men in a row, mustered by the Admiral: the third in line wears the Kriegsabzeichen for Aux Cruisers.

Would like to know the location of the last KM pics. Are they from the lost awards ceremony series of the MGR6 on 6th May 1945? Would be fantastic.

Man, it's been one of those days. It took me an inordinate about of time poking around to find the right combination of words to search that would bring this thread up for me. And then when I found it, I couldn't locate the image that I wanted to share in my collection. I'd misfiled it!

But anyway, I thought this might be of interest here. I don't really know how strange it is, but I am almost certain that this SS Scharführer is wearing a Fallschirmjäger Badge. This is not a combination that I can recall seeing before.

                                Regards,

                                Z

P.S. This is a fascinating thread by the way. The strange and unusual always piques my interest and there is no shortage of those attributes in the intriguing photos shared here.
