We mentioned above the revisionism that appears in certain of the editions of these albums. Here is a good example of this. Although, Hess is mentioned in the caption, do you see him in the actual picture?

This is from one of the later editions of the Adolf Hitler picture book.

Here's another illustration showing the how Hess was expunged. Notice the interesting photo retouching. Hess----was here a moment ago!!

Now, let's turn our attention to a list of the Cigarette Albums that should be of interest to the collector. Anyone who has a title not listed is encouraged to add it so that we can make as complete a list as possible.

        Adolf Hitler Bahrenfled issue 15

        Deutschland Erwacht Bahrenfeld issue 8

Männer und Erreignisse, volumes 1 and 2

        Das Westmark Buch

Sammelalbum Deutsche Uniformen SA-SS-HJ, band 1 actual vol 5 in this series

Sammelablum Deutsche Uniformen Volk ans Gewehr actual vol 6 in this series

Zeppelin Weltfahrten Volumes 1, 2, and the rarest vol 3

        Jugend in Front

        Olymnpia, 1936 volumes 1 and 2

        Bild-Doumente Unserer Zeit volumes 1 and 2

        Uniformen im Neuen Deutschland--Wehrmacht

Die XI. Olympiade-Berlin 1936 published by Heinrich Franck Söhne

Olympische Spiele 1936 published by Sidolwerken Siegel and Co.

        Raubstaat England Bahrenfeld issue 16

Caid Film Bilder album about actors and films includes scenes from Hilterjunge Quex

When purchasing these albums, it is a decided bonus to obtain the matching schuber or protective mailing sleeve if you can find it.

These titles are those that would most likely appeal to those collectors interested in the more martial aspects of NS Germany. I have not listed, and have purposely so, the clearly unrelated albums about the animal world, current non political events, non military aviation subjects, costumes, non Third Reich military uniforms, etc. There are literally hundreds of titles out there that would appeal to many people other than the militaria collector.

I will take a look at my version when I get home tonight but how silly of these people to delete Hess from the photos but keep his name in the caption!
Great info Ramon, thanks a lot.

              Hi Terry and Hi Ramon,

the 2 pics Ramon posted here without Hess is a very good example of dismatching pics and albums !!!
In this case the new version of pics were put into an old version of album.
So I totally have to disagree to your comment:
Terry: I will take a look at my version when I get home tonight but how silly of these people to delete Hess from the photos but keep his name in the caption!
Like I said before: in the album editions 2.301 - 2.400 thousand and 2.401 - 2.500 the name Hess was totally removed !!!
The version Ramon posted is much more uncommon - instead you can find a lot of the above mentioned editions where Hess ist still visible but the name has vanished.

              Cheers,

                Hallo Ustufvorwaerts,

For your reference, the edition of the Adolf Hitler album those pictures were scanned from is 2001.-2100. Tausend.

Here is a shot of it. I have placed Detlev's latest book next to it for scale for those who have never seen this. A great panoramic view of a meeting.
