    Deutschland Erwacht

    Hello -

I stumbled across this forum when researching the history of my Deutschland Erwacht book.

I have a first edition book. However, on page 52, a picture of Lutze has been pasted over the caption that describes Röhm, hiding the caption.

This made me wonder about other photos in my book. I noticed two more captions toward the back of the book that mention Röhm. Is there a way that I can find out if those pictures were the original ones?

    Thanks - Deb

I'm looking at a copy from the 1276-1375 Tausend issue and Page 52 shows a big nice photo of Lutze with a Lutze caption.

For those issues surviving the 1934 purge of Röhm the Lutze paste over images stop at 200000 in the print run. From there on, the text of the book reflects the proper Lutze caption and picture.

Collectors actively seek the following: 1, an unaltered original Röhm issue, 2. The transitional example with the Lutze paste over, finally, 3. the revised printed Lutze caption.

I picked up a copy of Raubsaat England on Sunday morning, which is rather interesting and my research led me to this thread.

The info about the AH and Erwache books and the disappearing figures is really really interesting. It would appear that Hess had a habit of just going missing!

I'm now itching to get home and check my AH copies, see who's in them!

Anyway, I noticed mention of the translations, there is a book published which is a translation of the AH album with the reproductions of the cards in all of the correct places.

I bought the book for about £2vfrom one of those discount bookshops, that sells whatever books they printed too many of or nobody wants. Usually lots of autobiographies of models and sports persons. Anyway, it was only by chance that I was looking through it after it'd been stacked in the garage with my less interesting books. (the ones I bought to look at the photos when I was about 10) And I noticed it was familiar, I then realised it was a translation of the original AH card album. It makes a very good partner for it.
Now due to the title simply being "Adolf Hitler" there are far too many books on amazon to find it, so I shall have to dig it out when I get a sec and see if I can find it from it's ISBN.

Shame there's no translation of Raubstaat England!

            HI JC ESQ!

"Raubstatt Engeland" is a great example of anti-English propaganda, showing the terrible things (mostly true, unfortunately) that the English have done to the rest of the UK and the "British Empire" throughout history.
This album was one of my first purchases, bought on a flea market in Germany seven years ago for 20 Euro.
The stallholder thought it was very funny that an English person was buying this album!

            Best wishes,

            John.

Here's a link to the book that is the English translation of the Adolf Hitler card album:
