Thanks for the pics! Very interesting!

Does anyone else have documentation or images of how the bodyguard worked operationally?

Was it still fully present in Berlin in '45?

        Hello Kerry.

        Thanks for sharing these photos.

I think they are quite important.

        Best,

Thanks for all the comments folks, please post any photos you have on the subject. Lloyd I, yes, I was amazed and delighted to have so little competition. i was initially interested in the G4s, but this thread has made me realise what a fascinating group they really were.

He has a map under his arm and is, like all of the SS officers in the group, wearing a leather coat. Does anybody recognise the officer or have an explanation for his presence in the bodyguard?
                    Many thanks,

In similar uniform oddities On Hitlers sight seeing tour of Paris again in the field grey G4 Albert Speer wears an SS officers side cap...I dont think he cared for uniforms of any sort...and probably borrowed Brandts or Linges purlyfor warmt in the open top car.

Albert Speer did not wear a SS cap on the sightseeing tour of Paris with Hitler. I think you mean Arno Breker.

                        Hi,

excellent pictures of the "chauffeur's gang".

On the use of the various Hitler's bodyguards (and history of the "Hitler's bunkers"), one and only book :

"Hitler's personal Security" by Peter Hoffman.

The last revised edition (2000) is a must have for anyone interested in the Hitler's life.

Another interesting reading is the "Operation Foxley" book by Mark Seaman, a report prepared by the SOE in 1944 on the opportunities to kill Hitler in various places in Germany. Many infos on the security, even if it was sometimes not up to date.

The french edition was terrific ! Like for the English version, you have a facsimile of the original files of the "Foxley Operation".

Here is another photo of Hitler in his MB G 4 with a bodyguard following in another MB G 4. Photo taken during Hitler's visit to Poland.

                          Cheers,

I bought "Operation Foxley" back in 1998 when it was newly published -- a fine read! I hadn't heard of "Hitler's Personal Security" until right now...
