Hitler bodyguard

This photo came with some shots of the Hitler convoy of heavily armed Mercedes G4s. However, I noticed that one of the resting officers is wearing a Luftwaffe other ranks hat with a metal cockade. He has a map under his arm and is, like all of the SS officers in the group, wearing a leather coat. Does anybody recognise the officer or have an explanation for his presence in the bodyguard?

The Luftwaffe officer is Nicolaus von BELOW (Oberst und persönlicher Luftwaffenadjutant von Adolf Hitler).

He was an interesting character!

From what I have just Googled about Bruno Gesche I think it could have been a mistake to have a loaded MP38/40 that close to him!
