I don’t believe this one was posted yet; Uffz. Rudi Schäfer, RK 11-03-45.

One of the rare occasions you see the M44 tunic closed at the top.

A Gefreiter in front of a medical truck, displaying what could be the emblem of the 78.Sturm-Division 8 although it's too blurry to be sure.

Unteroffizier on his wedding day (24th of March, 1945) with "pimped" M44: early litzen, dark green shoulder straps and quality breast eagle.

                      Wow, some great additions!

Maxoumilitaria - interesting. The 78 Sturm Division was one of the 8 units chosen to test the M44 pattern uniform from the summer of 1943 onwards according to the research of Dr Klietmann. I wonder if that photograph might possibly be dated earlier than the September 1944 onwards date we always associate with pictures of M44's?

                      See post #2:-

An SS M44 tunic in wear, with tailor altered dark green collar, and an FJ badge. Even SS M44 felblusen in wear are rare....

That's an interesting question Paul. This picture is part of a small group with 2 others (see below) but they are not dated. Although only one of them shows snow on the floor and building roof, they seem to have been taken in a short period of time.

So admitting that these are indeed from the 78.Sturm-Division, it would be either 43-44 winter (admitting that they were already given for testing in 43) or 44-45 winter.

PS: thanks for sharing the link to the SS-FJ picture, that's great!!

The SS FJ M44 photo is amazing and belongs in this thread. The ladies with the M44s are also amazing. Thank you everyone for the pics & links. True rare pics.
