Can I please get a translation for this please:

"Bestatigung
Es Wird hiermit bestatigt, das der PG Beer, Andreas bei der NSDAP-Gauamt fur Beamte, Fachschaft 1-Reichsbahn seit 1. Mai 1935 aktiv tatig ist."

I am having trouble getting a good translation for Fachschaft. I get either Students or Student Council. Which is not making sense to the rest of the sentance.
