1942 date book with many entries kia and wounded

I have this 1942 date book with many listings regarding Corporals and Sergeants being killed, and in a few cases, wounded. Was wondering if some of the other text in the book might indicate why the owner knew so many NCO's. No clear indication that he was in the military. Maybe a trainer/teacher?

    Any help would be appreciated.

          trans

A few entries have zurueck/returned at the end and then there are addresses which, based on looking at the only Spiess' book an old Spiess I knew still had, may indicate it is such a book. The addresses could be of relatives who would be receiving a letter of what happened to members of the company.

Thanks, Pauke - I never would have guessed.

On the first page is written a Feldpostnummer O6356 (where normally should be written the phone

number). So I think the owner of the booklet was with the army. The unit is:

              Feldpostnummer 06356

              (Mobilmachung-1.1.1940) Stab II Infanterie-Regiment 46,
              (28.4.1940-14.9.1940) Stab II u.5.-8. Kompanie Infanterie-Regiment 46,
              (15.7.1942-24.1.1943) gestrichen,
              (1.8.1943-23.3.1944) 7.10.1943 Batterie (teilbeweglich mot.) 982,
              (24.3.1944-6.11.1944) 2.9.1944 gestrichen

The entry Freitag, 13. März 1942 shows " Rosenow gefallen" (KIA). I think I found the Volksbund entry of Rosenow and so we know in which area in Russia your guy was at that day:

                Nachname: Rosenow
                Vorname: Alwin
                Dienstgrad: Schütze
                Geburtsdatum: 09.09.1920
                Geburtsort: Klein Rünz
                Todes-/Vermisstendatum: 13.03.1942
                Todes-/Vermisstenort: Pustynja

Also for "Jago" who was KIA 12 March 1942 (so the entry in the booklet) I found the Volksbund

                    entry

                    Nachname:Jago
                    Vorname:Robert
                    Dienstgrad:Schütze
                    Geburtsdatum:23.02.1921
                    Geburtsort:Rühle
                    Todes-/Vermisstendatum:12.03.1942
                    Todes-/Vermisstenort:Pustynja

Both Rosenow and Jago are burried at the same cemetery in Pustinia/Russia.
