Thanks for that. I understand the 'heavy Losses' but what is the meaning of the whole entry in English please?

I would translate it in the following way:

strong losses .. Lieutenant Dombrowski - 3. Battalion Ifa (?) - sit down.

It does not make very sense...

Thanks Gerdan, It doesn't make much sense does it? I think the 3 Batl Ifa is actually 3 Batl Stab? What do you think. From what I can make out I, the company commander was killed on this day and another Leutnant replaced him, and I wonder if LT. Dombrowski was moved into his position?

With the help of your interpretation it could make sense.

Lt. Dombrowski came to the new position (staffing). So the expression could also say "eingesetzt" replaced - and this makes really sense.
