Re # 15203. There must be Generallleutnant Anton Freiherr von Hirschberg there in your picture. 554 Inf. Div. The place is Donaueschingen.

The soldier died and his grave was at le Chatelier near Givry-en-Argonne in the community graveyard. It was moved to the West Cemetery at Reims grave no. 268. The finer details I cannot explain.

This picture was taken during an official event held at the Tannenberg Memorial at Hohenstein (today Olsztynek, Poland): On that day, the mortal remains of Paul von Hindenburg and his wife were re-interred in the newly-built crypt and the Tannenberg-Nationaldenkmal was re-designated as the Reichsehrenmal Tannenberg. (The date was chosen as 2 October 1847 was von Hindenburg's birthday.)

                          The first says

                          The second says

Tha last name could be "Peterchen" - diminutive of "Peter".
