What I do is look for words I can recognize. Once I have them, I'll take the letters from them, and see which of the unrecognizable words I can plug them into, thereby giving me sort of a hint at what the words might be. With context and some creativity, I can do fairly well. I had trouble at first with "gemeinsamen" in your text, but did the "insert letters" thing and figured it out.

I could use some help with translating this - the beginning is in French, but the handwriting is so hard to read, I can't even be certain if the second "paragraph" is also French
