# 1551 - the letter, only a short synopsis:

The writer had a long silence since Christmas because he had to sew covers/blankets for hoses and in the new year he ad to write the bills.

He is asking for his business, he is talking about the bad weather and the rain last summer where a lot of crop was ruined by the rain.

People in Perlach (the town where the writer lives) have a lot of debts so they need the good weather for the forage for their cattle.

He thanks for a photo which he likes very much.

Some members of his family moved from Mainingen to Nürnberg but this removal cost a lot.

On page 24 all leaves with more than 5 days are listed - with date, reason of the leave and

the location (town) where the soldier goes for leave.

Sometimes he had not to pay the ticket for the train ("Freifahrt")
