Could those be partisans captured or suspected partisans, as they look freaked out in the first few posts on page 1.?

Just a guess from my side - not captured partisans, maybe suspected.

I would belive that the situation would have been a bit different if they where partisans. But as I said. Just a guess.

Maybe some documents can reveal what happend. Or maybe some persons from that town know what happend. But that will be a long shot.

                  Dave -

Have you been following our discussion of the new Polizei book published just a few days ago? It may be that you are only interested in the militaria collecting side of the subject, but though you might be interested!

Here are some samples. Unfortunatly I had to resize them due to space on the server. The quality is overall superb.

This one is taken in Finland. Very close to the frontline, if some of the writings on the backside are correct.
                          What's the Cufftitle there?!

Just a comment about the suspected "partisans" shown in the first photo in post #9.

One of the "partisans" is wearing Lederhosen, worn only in Austria and Bayern, and another is wearing a clearly Austrian trachtenjoppe.

It would seem strange that folks from the Balkens would be wearing traditional "Oberbayern/Tirol" clothing. I might suggest these are the Austrian based cops in their "casual" clothing rather than suspects.

Just a thought not related to the fine photo album itself.
