    9660/ Meeting between German and Russian officers at Bialystock.
    In the city of Bialystock, the leader of a Eastern Army received high Russian officers to discuss the details about the occupation of the agreed demarcation line. At the end of the meetings, the high officers of the Red Army thanked the German general for the comradery words of greeting, which they also relayed to the Red Army. The German army leader at the meeting with the high Russian officers.

                      Oberstleutnant T., the son of a forestry man, is from Thuringian. He was born in 1912 in Grossobringen. Originally, he was supposed to learn the profession of his father, that is, the forest keeper and hunter. Fate had different choice. Oberstleutnant T. became a fighter and hunter of the air. At school, he learned how to fly and when he was in the infantry he learned how to shoot -1934 entered the newly formed Reich Luftwaffe and graduated as a fighter pilot, the wish of his early childhood has been fulfilled. In 1936/37 he was in Spain and took his first flying laurels there. During the Polish war, he was participated in the air defense, the combat over the English Channel and finally the winter battles of 1941/42 in the east further enhancing his successful flying life. As a fighter pilot, Oberstleutnant T. trained many of our successful fighter pilots. He is now the Commander of a fighter squadron that was the first to report the downing of 4000 opponents on the Eastern front.

                          The Arbeitsdienst is also used here. Our picture shows men of the Reichsarbeitsdienst during the crossing to a small coastal island, called “gulls nest” by the men. The sentry ia being replaced by these comrades.
