That is a nice shot of the dragons teeth emerging from the fog. Very atmospheric!

        Atlantic press photos

        Hi Todd

Nice photos as usual , i don't recall seeing any november 1944 dated Atlantic press photos!
The latest i have is dated 31.10.1944 , i will send it you to post.

Does this lack of Late war Atlantic press photos point to their offices being destroyed in a bombing raid in early November?

I wish I new Andy...I wish I knew. I don't have access to any archives to research the Atlantic or any other press agencies to find out what happened to any of them. I would very curious to know anything more in regards to the various agencies.

Here is the photo from Andy dated 31 October 1944. Thanks Andy for the contribution to this thread.

1945 dated press photos are very tough to come by. Checking my records, I have only 21 of them.

His full name was Heinrich Rose. My records show he photgraphed naval elements in late 1943 or early 1944. Then during 1944, he took photos of Hungarian ethnic-German communities.

G'day Todd, great photos as usual.
It may be just these tired old eyes, but # 3771 appears to have been enhanced at some point. The boots on the man at the right look like they have been drawn/painted on and those hanging from the other man look out of sorts also. I'm also wondering why the background is a different hue of grey when compared to that of the men in the foreground. Would these anomalies have possibly been created by the PK unit to enhance their work or am I just imagining the whole thing?
                    Regards
                    Bern

You have good eyes. You are correct, this particular press image has been touched up a bit by the PK unit. It is not unusual for such touch ups to occur on a press photo. It happens quite frequently when a license plate can be seen. Early in the war the plates were not whited out, but as the war progressed, the plates were whited out. It also happened frequently when awards or ranks were upgraded.

Can anyone ID any of the other men in this photo? Perhaps even have a small history on the ID'd men?
