Very nice! I do not very often see Volksstutm photo's. They are fascinating and sad, you see the downfall of the Reich.

I have a question, why did these boys and men fight? I mean They knew the war was almost over. The propaganda peolpe kept telling them to defend Germany, but what was there to defend? Thanks Alot!!!

The very minority of them actually did fight- most of them (i heard a lot of this in my town) threw their rifles in some holes, the canalisation or similar and that was it (a lot of those were dug out years after the war...)... exept some real fanatics that is....
