        RSI Gothic Line

A little off subject , but since my Italian friends are active on this thread does anyone know where I can view or obtain a copy of this documentary on RSI force and the Gothic Line. I can't seem to locate it anywhere on the web or mention of it other than this movie trailer listed below. I 'm not getting much help on my "Die Neipe" thread.

We actually use the term italians to avoid any incomprehension, but they were not proper "Italians" since they were living in two areas called OZAV (South Tirol) and OZAK (Friaul-Triest-Slovenia) and they were going to be part of the Deutsches Reich: people of german-ladin-friulan and also some of slovenian tongue from these areas, standing to the TR and Waffen-SS criteria, belonged to the Volksliste II described as "Volksdeutschen outside the Reich" or III described as " Races scusceptible of germanization or with a germanic ethnic-cultural past".
Most of the times they were treated as Volksdeutschen and they were let wear Runes on the tabs: quite a big number of volunteers in the SS (Karstjager, GvB, SS-Pol., etc.etc.) were actually from OZAK and OZAV.
In OZAK and OZAV the RSI Enlistment was forbidden by German Autorithies: all the enlisted man from these areas had to join german forces (Todt, Pol.Rgte, Heer, HJ, Luftschutz, Landschutz) or Waffen-SS (Karstjaeger).
In the rest of Italy all the enlisted man who had choose the W-SS branch at the RSI enlistment offices were sent to 29a SS-div.
The 29a. and the LAH use to have a lot of proper Italians volunteers from the peninsula, but just the LAH use to have also some people from OZAK and OZAV.

I really enjoyed the Italian SS photos, but does anybody have a pic of Italian shield being worn? Be it the Dahau shield or the printed tricolor shield with ITALIA on it? I've seen worn and unworn Italia shields but never seen a pic of one.

                      There are 2 kinds.
You could ask Sagittario's the favour to post them because in the book he owns and have post here before there are those shields.
BUT they have NEVER BEEN WORN because they have never been given to the troops from the german allied that made them in Dachau.
That' s why you haven't see pictures of ss italian man with national shield.
So when you see sellers that say "worn and used ss italian shield" you can laugh, laugh, and laugh again ...
                      Ciao

Yes, I have them too but while I heard that the black shield with facis was never worn, I also heard that the printed italian tricolor shield with ITALIA on it was worn by members of Karstjager division.

Here are some more Italian SS photos
that are depicted in the Book "Sentire-Pensare-Volere"

The first is a Italian SS Em wearing not one ,but two Italian SS eagles'
He is also wearing an M43 style cap with metal skull.

Take note of the Red Boards.

Although the Italian SS wore a hodge podge of Uniforms ,headgear
and insignias . These three photos following are real exceptions.

                                Hallo Askold and alls!!
but Karstjager Division not was an Italian Division but poli- ethinc ( formed with german, italian, austrian, slovenian and spanish and other ethic personell) They never worn that printed shield, probably they never worn the specifical collar tab too (edelweiss).
German personell use Rune Tabs, the other only black tabs.
They use the normal SS sleeve eagle.
On the shields: yes i look some of this around the world but no one of this was in used condition unlucky!!
