Hard to believe someone sold Oma's wedding picture.

Not to hard to believe....I've seen photos and albums that were retrieved from the trash. I have personally found them in the trash myself...during what we Americans call junking day and the Germans called Sperrmüll or jokingly a Turkish Holiday. I don't know if they still do it but Germans on certain days put old stuff on the curbside such as Antiques, Furniture, clothes and yes sometimes Militaria, photos etc.
The turks use to load up trailers, vans and what they didn't keep themselves they brought to the flea markets to sell. The city or town would pick up what remained the next day and took it to their sorting/dumping area.
