Actually it is the "eat crow" badge to be worn after 5 meals of crow on the Wehrmacht-Awards T-shirt. Like the original badge back then, not many collectors choose to wear them, so it is very hard to find them in pictures being worn.

What is the deal with the badges with the cut outs around the legs? I've seen them marked IMME, Juncker, and Osang.

        Hi Gary,

Any chance you could show a picture of one of these badges?

The fact that they show 3 different MM and Osang is one of them probably isn't a good signe

                          Thanks a lot Yuri,

So maybe I'll translate the most important parts for those people who don't read German.

The Author wrote this article because he disagrees with a wide spread theory amongst collectors that those awards were only made in buntmetall and that all the others are copies.

Since the badge was awarded from 03/36 until 01/44 in his opinion it's only logical that it also followed the normal evolution in to zink.

Both awards with massive and open swas are ok

The best know copy is an award with a one tone finish. Using a more yellow looking alloy in which both eagle and wreath are finished. There also is a difference on the hinge construction but that I find difficult to translate because I'm not sure I understand what he means. Frank maybe you can give it a try.

The author states that he saw the badge in wear in "kriegsberichte" war reports.

After the war a lot of these badges surfaced in mint condition and came from old LDO stock the were marked L/11

The 3 award shown came with proven provenance.

I think that sums it up.

If mister Von Tettinek got it right than personaly I have no reason to doubt any of the badges posted here. Only uncertainty is his hinge theory that I don't fully understand.

Any more thoughts before making my final decision are most welcome.
