I believe the Ehrenpokal to be a unique piece of aviation history. As each is officially named to an individual, whether an RK ace or a bomber ROAG, they are each researchable unlike most TR awards, though with difficulty. Whether 835 silver or Alpaka they are beautifully executed items. Because of these features, I feel they will retain value beyond the general military collectibles market. My 2-cents!

I would like to know what the last date of award of an actual goblet? I believe it was some time in mid-1943. Does anyone have the "last date"? Also, I have seen the number of the actual goblets awarded at just over 10,000. Is there documentation anywhere to confirm this? Also is there documentation which announced the cessation of the award of the actual goblet until the end of the war? Thanks for any info. Bob

        Hello Bob,
when asked about the really produced honor goblet nobody will unfortunately you can answer.
I once calculated a rough estimate of 835er goblets.
In my opinion, an estimated 1600 to 1800 real silver trophies between August 1940
and late March 1942 were manufactured.

In answering part of my own question, I have found a previously "Sold" Ehrenpokal group on EMedals in Canada awarded on 27 June 1944 with corresponding document. Subject was Fw Weber, Observer in a Recon unit. This late date surprises me. Comments? Thanks! Bob

Yes, it's an Alpaka by Wagner. Here's the link to it on EMedals Sold Items list.

                And it's not a typo.

That's the latest I've seen, and by far.
