In 1941, Hitler abolished older scripts in favour of Deutsche Normalschrift, which I can only suppose took a while to standardize in the early days?
When you look at this comparison, the "J" in Jenisch looks like a hybrid between the "F" and "J" in Deutsche Normalschrift, incorporating the mid-height horizontal stroke of the "F", but the top stroke on the "J" doesn't cross the midline like on the "F".
