Thanks for the details. So are you suggesting that these badges were cast in zinc and that the final product was then to be completed on board a WW1 U-Boat in 1918?

correct this is one possible guess....
Maybe the one shown in #16 came frome the same founding, where also my 6 pieces were left ??
