This suggests either a) they are post-war dies or b) the dies were made in wartime (maybe at the same time as the solid version) but never used until post-war.
I wonder which side of the wall Schwerin ended up on? If any unused dies were on the Russian side I couldn't imagine them being used post-war?
Any story behind the dies when you got them?
