Opinions on embroidered U-Boot War Badge

    Hello everyone,

I would appreciate your opinion on that embroidered U-Boot War Badge which is glued on the cover of a photo album.

    Many thanks!

    Hi Klaus,

In my opinion, that is a good example of the one type of machine embroidered U-Boat badge that we can say so far was wartime produced. There is evidence of this type in wear on period photographs and it's the same as the one in this thread with some provenance:

    More discussion on these here:

    Best regards,

I might add that this type is featured on page 204 of The Kriegsmarine Awards, volume III.

Are the photos in the album U-boat related?
          Regards

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!

IMO a very nice one, the embroidery is totally different to the fake ones, nice and thick etc

              Thanks for your comments!
@ Kenny: Yes, it is an album of a U-Boot man. There are his training photos in there. Not much "proper" U-Boot but still very exciting pictures.

I like the way the album presents itself and I see no reason not to think the cloth badge is period to the war or a personal item of the sailor who made the album.
