    French-made KM E-Boat (1st Pattern) Badge

While the French-made badges by Mourgeon (so-called "Bacqueville Kriegsmarine Badges") are somewhat controversial, the WAF poll majority believe in them to be "perfectly acceptable as originals".

As they have also been faked, I would appreciate receiving comments and feedback as to the one posted below.

I would also like to know if these are at all desirable in the current market and what value might be placed on such a badge.

    Thanks in advance.

      Hi John,
Reverse hardware in your badge fits to what many collectors consider to be accepted setup. I personaly do not belive in any Bacquevilles until at least one sound proof they are period comes out. There is only one known second hand information about two badges found in December 1944 in the basement of the Staff of the Navy in Paris... too little for me. And since 60's these Bacquevilles are highly proliferous...

It would help somewhat if they weren't so hideous...eagle looks like a seal with wings. They're an okay thing to collect, just not as official combat awards. (IMO)

          Best regards,

Personally I don´t believe in those "french made badges" at all, but who am I to judge?

I am more thinking about a Penguin with a Paraglider mounted on its back.
