I blew it up and it looks like a zero. Definitely some variation in the 830S version.

With EXTREME enlargements of the numbers I can see clearly this one you just posted and mine are identical silver marks.

There is the fighter on the upper left of the paper.

Was the badge awarded mainly to SS?

                    Hello!
The "Frontkjempermerke" was intended for all volunteers, but it is not known if those serving in WH, KM or LW got one.
There were also foreigners, like Swedes, Danes, Austrians and Germans who were awarded the badge. And the Norw. female nurses, of course.

Appearently, there were two different producers of the badge as well. Only those with thin needles are regarded as pre-1945. The one "lillegutt" has, the one with brass flat needle, is by 99% repaired, as the needles often were broken. Those with raised lettering (830 S) are replacement badges from the 60s. About the zinc ones; it is difficult to say when they were produced, really. The story says 1947, but I have seen no evidence at all, and a mistake does not get more correct if repeated many times. Clearly it is post-war.

                    B

                      Hi again!
Forgot to say that the second producer of the badge probably was the famous silversmith & designer Axel Holmsen.
Jan Are - the one marked 935S is by 99.99% a infamous German high quality reproduction. I even believe it has a flat needle. Or was it a jewelers lock instead of the "C"-catch? I cannot recall now.

The one i`ve seen has almost exactly the same needle and catch as the one marked 830s w.

What is the prize on the frontkjemper badge in Norway now? Are they hard to get? I have seen one some time ago at qxl but I thought it was fake.
By the way there are a picture of the famous Norwegian nurse wearing the frontkjemper badge in David Littlejohns bok about foregin legions of the third reich.

PS Do u have any badges for sale now Jan Arne? Frontkjemper, panzer or infantery badge?....christmas comming up and I have to buy my own presents
