    Hi Rene !
"Frontkjempermerket" with brass pin is only marked "830S" and not "W" .
"Frontkjempermerket" should have been made by several manufactures and not only by "W" proberly "Webeto" . There is also one "Frontkjempermerket" marked "830S" under shield on back with the same hinge /pin setup as badges marked " 830 s + W " on right lower side on "whreath" on back .
And I have just seen one marked "935S" on back . Have not study that badge yet , only seen some poor pics of back on that Badge .
I will post better pics of "Frontkjempermerket" with brass pin later .

    Jan Arne

PS Rene ! If you send my an PM . I would send you an email adress to the guys that has seen document on the two Zinc " Frontkjempermerket" taken in Kristiansand mai 1945 .

      Hi Jan,

Concerning these front-fighter badges I believe as you indicated that there were other mfrs not just "Webeto" that made and issued Front-fighter badges during WW2 but more studies need to be done. Some respected Norwegian collectors only stated that the "830S W" was pre-ww2 issued.

I sent you my e-mail would be interested in finding out more on those zinc badges?

      Hi Brian,
I am not sure if your badge is a repro or not but there are "830" and "830S" that are post-war.

Mine found here in Victoria Canada from a vet and his in Norway. Both with pins/catches removed no doubt because of pin failure both were sewed onto uniform.

Here is the back of Munin's badge, NOT mine.

            Hi Guys !
Brian ! Like I said I think your "Frontkjempermerket" is correct . My concern is the back of your badge . Normally this badges has a very nice back .
But perhaps the badge in your Collection has had a hard life . or it also can be because you have blow up back a lot on pics .

Munin ! Your badge aslo looks correct .

Thanks Jan, it looks like my badge was dragged behind a Panzer and then stomped on with hobnail boots. Lots of nicks and a few small cuts. Lots of character. Your miniatures are fantastic.

As always you're being very nice. I really don't know if it's a postwar replacement, it's not a cheap knockoff, or a genuine war relic. I'd really like to know, for sure. Although at times I begin to wonder if there's EVER a for sure in this sport.

Here is the back of mine.

                Hi Guys !
Here is back of the "Frontkjempermerket" with broken "J" and the strange head on Viking . The badge I dont like !!

Brian ! Like you said , if we cant be sure about a badge . Trust on your feeling about it . Judging form pics is not always so easy .

Sometimes on badges the numbers can tell you a lot. Is there a perfect match here to yours or not. Be nice to get to the bottom of this one.

I saw a hat badge posted earlier that is different from the example that I have. Can any of you guys tell me if my hat badge is original?

As for the Norwegian Front Fighter's badges I know these are heavily reproduced and readily available from the "usual suspects." I used to own one and as I recall it was the type with the needle pin, and a silver content marking on the reverse.

Hi Jan, thank you for the pictures, I like the zinc one it is very nice and shows nice detail and honest age. I had at one time some nice pieces from Norway that I should have kept. How much do these zinc hat badges go for?
