It's been so long now, that I forget why they nicknamed this maker, which remains unknown, the "broken stem". The features that stand out for this one are the eagle head + the right leg.

Indeed, this is an original IAB. It is referred to as "broken stem" because the maker is currently unknown, but Rettenmaier is a good candidate.
The badge is zinc, no doubt about it. The large plates under the hinge and catch are almost always an indication of a zinc badge.
