    Estand IAB & Krim Discussion

    Evening Gents,

Just got in from work and discovered that a discussion needs opening up on an IAB and Krim that I have fro sale on the Estand. The link to it is here:

    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=332364

I will post the pictures of the two items after my tea. The IAB is already in the post to the new buyer, but I will contact him via PM and inform him of the link. A full refund will be ready if required.

The Krim is under offer for the full price by a member who I am led to believe is a bit of an expert on these.

    Speak shortly.

    Steve

    Gents,

After recent dodgy activities on the site I do not want to be branded with the same brush. Even though the item is in the post I have given an immediate full refund.
Hopefully if the badge is good, the buyer will be kind enough to pay me again!!

    Regards

    Steve

      Hi Steve,
I can only speak for the Krim shield and that is 100% original.

I too believe the IAB to be a fake. It looks like a copy of a BH Mayer IAB, but the obverse is soft with very poor details (see the acorns, eagle, and rifle) and there is no cut-out between the rifle and swastica. To its credit, the catch looks like the correct type, however the reverse looks soft as well -- this may just be the picture though.

I've attached a link to a recent thread (posted by Hakan81) of what a BH Mayer IAB should look like.

IMO, no comparison between the details expected of an original and the one on the estand for sale.

Gents, in my defence it really felt good in the hand. Here are the pictures that I have

                      Steve,

No defense necessary. I have been fooled more times than I like to admit. As for your IAB, perhaps it is an original pattern form a different maker and all will turn out well.

Others will soon contribute to this discussion.

Hi Steve,i believe the IAB's a copy. The rifle detail's lacking,a lot of the recesses have rounded edges. Sorry. Everybody knows you're a stand up guy, your good reputaion remains intact IMO. Stewy
