I really like these finishes because they look brand new but they are real...I have seen this style finish on an IAB and on a GAB too.Comment

Hi guys...I am not commenting on the wear patterns here, but when I hit the shows I always like to study the new fakes when I have some free time and I probably handle hundreds, and I will say that they have gotten what appears to be worn zinc down pretty good on some badges, with lifting etc....you really have to look twice sometimes

the wear sure is strange, and another strange thing is there are 2 different IAB's on the pictures with the same wear.....
is it possible these are casting from a IAb with wear, and just giving a shiny finnish?Comment

The wear on my eagle is different, some of the chestplates are not even visible. There is a way we can see though by photographing both halves of the badges straight on and splicing them with photoshop to do a comparison, I can get mine done tonight and hopefully dave can when he comes on. As Dion says, very different. It is likely the "wear" is in fact a thick finish. If it was worn in those areas, the areas would not be raised. The finish is covering the stems of the leaves.Originally posted by kray View Post
